About
Kut Kaji Cards is an anti-tech company. I don't think we should go gentle into the good night of algorithms deciding who we date, who we’re friends with, what we know about the world, and how we connect with it. I hope to wrest some spontaneity, unexpectedness, chance back into our everyday with this analog thing.
Also, I pull way hotter people in person than on dating apps. I wish you the same with KKCs in your hands ☺️
Why ‘Kut Kaji Cards’
Kut Kaji means ‘to the end’ in Korean (I’m Indian). The company is called this because I call my best friend, who is Korean, the OG Kut Kaji Girl.
I call her this because among being my role model in all things, she is also my role model in love - the way she won her boyfriend, now of many years, is nothing short of extraordinary. Every time I see how happy she is with him it is a reminder to not let shame or fear get in the way of being vulnerable and getting after what I want.
Shame is the most powerful tool in the patriarchy’s arsenal, and there is something particularly humiliating, according to both old rules and new, about being a woman/enby desiring men. But I think a lot of things worth having are on the other side of this collective and personal sized shame.
I’m loathe to encourage any straight men reading this to have less shame (I think a lot of you could use some more) but I do think you could afford to take more risks, and put yourselves out there more. You have less to lose than anyone else. Learn to read the room a little bit, be considerate of other people’s experience, and I promise, unfortunately, the world is yours!
How To Use Kut Kaji Cards
You see someone cute on the train, or at a café. Give them your Kut Kaji Card and run away.
Or you get to chatting with people at your block association meeting and want them to have your contact info.
Or you make friends in the club bathroom.
Or you meet cool people on a walking tour while on holiday.
The opportunities are endless.
In a way the big picture of Kut Kaji Cards can best be summarized by a TikTok comment I saw - “You all talk a lot about community organizing for people who can’t make eye contact with your neighbors.” (I am convinced the greatest philosophers and comedians of our time are in TikTok comments). I wish for me to get rich, and for us to work out these social and community muscles more.
Put whatever info/intention you want on your card. They come in a matchbox style box you can carry around, or you can keep a few handy in your card case.
